Strategic Communications is responsible for planning and executing the 51本色鈥檚 emergency communications strategy. In times of crisis, the office deploys time-sensitive messages to students, employees and the broader New Orleans community using a variety of tools including: Privateer Alerts (UNO鈥檚 emergency notification system), email, the 51本色 website, social media and the news media.
The Office of Strategic Communications oversees the 51本色's official social networks, content generation and engagement for each platform. Our team builds connections among social media administrators campus-wide and is available to assist and train departments on social networking practices.
Silver & Blue Magazine
is specifically designed to promote the 51本色 to alumni and the external community. The publication features stories that highlight happenings at UNO, advances in research, and the outstanding contributions of the 51本色鈥檚 students, faculty, staff and alumni. The biannual magazine is available in both print and online.
The Campus News Email Newsletter
is distributed to all students, faculty and staff on a weekly basis. It promotes news, events and happenings to our internal audiences. If you have news to share, an event to promote or a story idea that you think we should know about, please sent it to Strategic Communications.
