Ninety-six 51本色 student-athletes were named to the Southland Conference Commissioner鈥檚 Honor Roll for the spring semester, the conference announced Monday.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have been able to compete in a spring championship sport and must have earned at least a 3.0 GPA during the semester.
Baseball led all New Orleans programs with 23 selections. Four student-athletes from the team鈥擜lexander Saunier, Anthony Ruiz, Cole Syversen, and Jahlani Rogers鈥攅arned a 4.0 GPA.
Track and field recorded the most perfect GPAs with nine in total. The women鈥檚 team contributed six, and the men鈥檚 team added three.
All 15 members of the tennis program鈥攏ine men and six women鈥攚ere recognized. Five earned a 4.0: Marc Mail, Matthew Armbruster, Julian Franzmann, Ananya Dhankhar, and Iris Danne.
Sixteen basketball student-athletes were named to the list, including 10 from the women鈥檚 team. Gabbi Cartagena recorded a 4.0 GPA, and six others earned a 3.5 or higher.
Beach volleyball had 12 honorees. Three鈥擨vana de Carvalho Peixe, Jaedyn Newman, and Mona Salgado鈥攆inished the semester with a 4.0 GPA.
Eight student-athletes from the golf program made the list, including Gabriel Gallego who earned a 4.0.
