The 51��ɫ is one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduates to earn their college degree, according to The Princeton Review. The Princeton Review features UNO in the new 2020 edition of its college guide, “The Best 385 Colleges.”

“We are pleased to once again be included in The Princeton Review’s annual guide to the best colleges,” said President John Nicklow. “The 51��ɫ is a major public research university that offers the student support and enrichment activities of a much smaller campus. Our dedicated faculty and staff help our students pursue their passions and prepare them for careers. And our diverse student body is talented and determined.”

“We salute the 51��ɫ for its outstanding academics and we are truly pleased to recommend it to prospective applicants searching for their personal ‘best-fit’ colleges,” said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's editor-in-chief and the book's lead author.

Only about 13% of America’s 3,000 four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is one of The Princeton Review’s most popular publications. The company chooses the colleges for the book based on data it annually collects from administrators at hundreds of colleges about their institutions’ academic offerings. The Princeton Review also considers data it gathers from its surveys of college students who rate and report on various aspects of their campus and community experiences for this project. 

In its profile on the 51��ɫ, The Princeton Review reports that students say the 51��ɫ is a “diverse environment that makes it a welcoming area to be” giving students “the opportunity to get an education that helps students to get a better future.” One student says UNO “opens doors to students who come from different social and economic backgrounds.” Another student characterized fellow students as “determined, hardworking and considerate.”

The Princeton Review does not rank the colleges in the book from 1 to 385. Instead it reports 62 rankings lists of the top 20 schools in various categories important to prospective student applicants and their parents.
